Assistant/ Associate /Full Professors
Location: Rennes, France with occasional travel
Context
In accordance with its strategic development plan, the ESC Rennes School of Business is expanding its research and teaching activities alongside the development of its teaching programmes (including executive education programmes) and the growth of student numbers.Â
The international school of management invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced academic staff to contribute to this expansion. Recruitment is on a rolling basis and successful candidates may start their employment at a mutually agreed time; the ESC Rennes School of Business plans to recruit 7 new full-time (permanent) faculty up to December 2011.
Appointments are made at various academic ranks depending on research record, teaching record in management education in higher education and business experience.
Details of Vacancies
Appointments can be made in any of the major management fields including, for example: accounting, finance, corporate strategy, human resource management, marketing and sales, the management of information systems, operations management and research methods in management. In all cases we look for an international expertise in the relevant management domain.
We welcome applications from candidates who can make contributions to the work of the business school’s two central research centres: the Centre for Responsible Business and the Centre for Technology and Innovation Management. We are also interested at the present time in candidates who can make particular teaching contributions in international accounting, entrepreneurship, e-business management or operations management.Â
Salaries are determined on an individual basis for all academic ranks.
Qualifications
- A doctoral degree is a minimum requirement. An exception to this requirement may be made in the case of an appointment as assistant professor where the successful candidate is in the closing stage of her/his doctoral degree, provided that this degree is awarded before the start of employment with the business school.
- A record of research publications in high quality French or international peer-reviewed research journals in management disciplines or, in the case of appointments as assistant professors, a high potential so to do.
- An ability to teach students in the English language up to and including master’s degree level and possession of either a working knowledge of French or a willingness to acquire that knowledge.
- A willingness to engage with other faculty members in the development of the business school’s programmes, of its links to the corporate community and in research collaboration.

- Details, where appropriate, of student teaching evaluations
Following initial scrutiny of such applications, certain candidates will proceed to the interview stage. Depending on the individual case, they will either be invited to Rennes for interviews or, if the candidate is located outside Europe, be interviewed by electronic/telephonic means.
