Inquiring minds are developed through interaction with other inquiring minds. This is why the ESC Rennes School of Business has a deep strategic commitment to research, believing that its students deserve to be in contact with professors who push back the frontiers of their fields of expertise.

Brittany is a peninsula on the western edge of Eurasia, traditionally a link between the landmass to which it belongs and the worlds that lie beyond the waters. We build on this long and proud history with an international team of scholars that represent the diversity of the world and together explore the mysteries of what exists and the unknowns of the future.

Responsible Business

As a number of major crises have already broken out (not only in the financial sphere) and others are still before us (e.g. the effects of climate change, the consequences of the peak in oil supply, the shortage of food and water resources), numerous voices question the relevance of corporate policies, and suggest that the business community should adopt new roles beyond its economic functions.

The Centre in Technology and Innovation Management

For the last decade the business world has been facing shortening cycles which for the most part result from faster disruptive technological change. As Jack Welch once said “innovate or die,” implying that innovation – often driven by technology – has become the sole key success factor for sustainable competitive advantage.

PhD Programme

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

ESC Rennes offers the research degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) as an Affiliated Research Centre of the Open University Research School. The Open University is accredited by EQUIS and AACSB.

Chairs

Thomson Technicolor Chair

The Chair includes executive courses for the THOMSON Technicolor staff and applied research undertaken by core faculty members on projects instigated by THOMSON Technicolor. The partnership between ESC Rennes School of Business and THOMSON Technicolor will also help the company to attain certain corporate strategic objectives.

Canon Chair

The Centre for Responsible Business incorporates the CANON Chair, financed by CANON Research Centre France. The purpose of this Chair is to develop research and knowledge in the field of sustainability at large, with a forward-looking orientation, and more specifically, to explore the interactions between four large domains: foresight, globality, governance and the common good.
